Creating realistic skin tones in 3D animations is a complex process that requires an in-depth understanding of skin's multi-layered structure.

In this video, we showcase the MedSource Labs IV products as they are demonstrated on arms with various skin tones, highlighting our commitment to diversity and representation in medical animation. Creating realistic skin tones in 3D animations is a complex process that requires an in-depth understanding of skin's multi-layered structure.

To achieve natural-looking skin, our team employed advanced skin shading techniques and rendered our animations using Redshift. We experimented extensively with skin shaders to capture the subtleties of different skin tones. This involved simulating the interaction of light with the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. By accurately depicting how light bounces off and penetrates these layers, we created a realistic portrayal of skin under various conditions.

The SmartRelease is a surgical tool designed for transecting the transverse carpal ligament and fascia of the cubital tunnel, recession of the plantar fascia, and gastrocnemius aponeurosis. The animation accurately depicts the procedure of cutting part of the plantar fascia ligament to release tension and relieve inflammation of the ligament (plantar fasciitis).
