Summary: Compression fracture occurs. Cortical punch creates a hole in the pedicle. Bone probe enlarges the hole. Cannula containing balloon catheter is inserted into the vertebra. Balloon is expanded to create a cavity and restore vertebral height. Bone cement is introduced into cavity to maintain internal integrity.
