Discovering New Dermatology Products
The 71st Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology was held last week in Miami. More than 20,000 practitioners and exhibitors were there to gain knowledge of products and procedures, attend seminars and network within the profession.
I attended the meeting as a representative of Ghost Productions, Inc. to learn more about dermatology products and procedures. While on the exhibit floor, I visited many booths and was impressed with the technology and creative ways to display the technology. Also, many booths were giving away product samples, which seemed to really energize the crowd. Below are some of the cool products I learned about at the show.
GliSODin Skin Nutrients (www.glisodinskin.com) were presenting their ingestible product that delivers nutrients to the skin and allows for beautiful skin from the inside. The are a nutricosmetic company!! Their product is suitable for all skin types and is recommended for anyone looking to improve their skin health or to enhance the results from aesthetic procedures.
Suneva Medical (www.sunevamedical.com) offered a dermal filler, Artefill, that contains microsphere-enhanced collagen for long lasting wrinkle correction. I can’t wait until I need this product, because the before and after photos were amazing. The user looked youthful with less wrinkles without that plastic look of other products.
ChopSaver (www.chopsaver.com), an innovative company from Indianapolis, had a very cool product originally designed for musicians. The inventor of the product is a trumpet player and was looking for an effective lip balm. The product is 100% natural lip therapy and can be used for anyone with chapped lips. I love their tagline, “For People with Lips!!!”
Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson&Johnson (www.stelarainfo.com) created buzz for their prescription drug Stelara by commissioning an artist to create an art installation that was a life-size wire frame car. The product, which helps to provide clearer skin for those with severe plaque psoriasis, was presented with the slogan, “Revealing Stories Across America.” The art piece will travel coast to coast in an effort to hear success stories that can be shared with the healthcare community.
Benev (www.benev.com), a cosmeceutical company, has products that works with the skin’s natural rhythms to create visible results. I appreciate that the products are made in small batches to maximize efficacy, safety and consistency. Plus I loved their booth design!
